| The
Princeton Arts Chorale, a group sponsored by the Princeton
Arts Society, brings together some of Princeton's most talented
singers to share a vast and varied musical heritage with
listeners young and old.
In
2008 PAS Board member David Lowenthal recruited Larry Sigler
to direct the group, and gradually assembled about twenty
male and female singers. The men are Denis Coughlin, John
Stimpson, Brandon Bulseco, Brian Specht, Harry Pape, Rick
Rudman, Terry Hart and Mark Canfield. The women are Abby
and Rachel Kopec, Sue Sigler, Linda Michel, Ramani Fernando,
Faith Pistrang, Leslie Wood, Joyce Anderson, Deb Simeone
and Laura Gal. Piano accompaniment has been shared by Patsy
Mollica and Janeen Baker.
The
Chorale’s plan is to sing a range of pieces, from
Christmas carols to folk songs, spirituals, traditional
melodies, show tunes, Gilbert and Sullivan— even opera.
Their first performance, on January 4, 2009, was carol singing
in the service of Princeton’s Congregational Church,
and it was warmly received.
The
Princeton Arts Chorale was formed as a result of the Princeton
Arts Society's interest in promoting all the arts: visual,
verbal, and performing.
